The Montessori environment is a wonderful place for your child to explore, develop and grow! They experience our classrooms through purposeful activities designed to stimulate their curiosity and build their confidence. The children are free to choose what lesson they wish to work on, as long as it is something that they have been shown how to use, as long as they are using the materials with care, and as long as they are not bothering other students. The teachers job is to observe the child in the environment, and introduce them to the lessons in the classroom which the child shows interest in, or which the child seems ready for. The children at our school are allowed to progress at their own pace. We "Follow the Child".

Programs
EWMS has two Primary Classrooms for ages 3 to 6. Each classroom has a Head Teacher and two assistant teachers, with 30 students. EWMS has one Toddler Classroom for ages 2 to 31/2. This classroom has a Head Teacher and two assistant teachers, with 20 students. It is a wonderful environment for the little ones to learn and grow!

East West Montessori School is the oldest English-speaking Montessori School on Okinawa. It was originally founded in 1986 by Victory Christ Church. Now, it has been more than 20 years and EWMS continues to set the standards for excellence in education! With Montessori Trained and Certified teachers, we strive to meet the needs of all of our students, while adhering to the Montessori Philosophy and Method of Education. We are continually working with other Montessori organizations to educate ourselves as well as our students.
