- If I Had My Child to Raise Over Again
If I had my child raise all over again,
I’d build her sef-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d finger paint more, and point my finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging and less tugging.
I’d see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be first less often, and affirm much more.
I’d model less about the love of power,
And it’s more about the power of love.

もう一度子育てのチャンスがあるならば
家を建てる前に、子供の自尊心を育てるだろう。
素晴らしい絵をたくさん見せ､強制事はなるべく減らし心の連結を太くしよう。
監視の目ではなく、心の目で見つめ､
知るためだけの配慮でなく、人の心について配慮することを教えよう。
もっともっと一緒に歩き、そして、凧より高く飛ぼう。
ふざけたお遊びはやめて、子供の心に戻って、本気になって一緒に遊んで、
がむしゃらに野原中を駆け回り、より多くの星を探そう。
より多く抱きしめ、強制することを少なくしよう。
そして、より多く木からどんぐりを見つけ出そう。
自己中心的になるよりも、子供と同意して分かち合おう。
権力の愛についてはより弱い模範となり
真の愛についてはより強い模範になろう。
